IT MUST NOT BE LOST AS A VILLAGE ASSET
We want the Fleur de Lys, Dorchester-on-Thames to be owned by and run for the community. It can be more than just another pub. This historic building is superbly sited to become a community hub for Dorchester. We do not want to see the pub shut or get run down before change of use.Pledge NowRead More about the pub
How would it be saved?
By the community buying the pub through a Community Benefit Society (CBS). The Fleur has already been registered as an Asset of Community Value. We are in a moratorium period when no sale can be made, which expires on 20th November. This gives us time to prepare a bid. We have a tight timescale. The asking price is £655,000. We need to raise money to buy the freehold, cover acquisition costs, perform necessary refurbishments, recruit a tenant, and retain a contingency.Pledge Now!
What next? We need to establish how much the community is willing to invest, and whether there is a willingness in the Dorchester and surrounding villages to contribute su cient funds to make the project viable. The more people who are able to pledge a commitment to buying shares, and the greater the community involvement in our project, the greater the chance of success. We are not yet at the stage where we can launch a formal share offer so at present we are asking for Pledge Forms to be completed to help us demonstrate the level of support.Pledge Now!
